Stan the Weasel
A walking disciplinary hearing and a weasel who would very much prefer you didn't call him one.
Professional wind-up merchant. Part stoat (allegedly).
Technically speaking, Stan is a weasel. However, his great-uncle was apparently a stoat, a fact he considers extremely important and one he manages to introduce into almost every conversation. Nobody knows why. Nobody has asked. It hasn't stopped him.
Musically, Stan is a product of Britain's rave culture. Old-school hardcore, jungle, '90s drum and bass and anything with a bassline powerful enough to cause structural damage.
Andy C is practically royalty in Stan's world, although he'll happily throw on some Audio Bullys, Gorillaz, Roots Manuva, Jurassic 5 or Ugly Duckling when he's feeling particularly sophisticated.
His bass playing is loud, infectious and driven by an almost unhealthy obsession with rhythm. Stan believes the bass should be felt somewhere around your ribcage, preferably from the next postcode.
He's also an enthusiastic troublemaker with a remarkable ability to say exactly the wrong thing at exactly the right moment. His favourite pastime is winding up Fred, particularly about Basil Brush, Fantastic Mr Fox and the Three Little Pigs. Fred has explained on numerous occasions that the latter involved a wolf. Stan remains unconvinced.
He's cheeky, mischievous, frequently inappropriate and considerably sharper than Bert gives him credit for. Although not always intentionally.
Despite being the band's primary source of aggravation, Stan is fiercely loyal to his bandmates and utterly devoted to the music. He might not understand every lyric Fred writes, but he'll make damn sure you can dance to it.
People keep calling me a weasel. My great-uncle was a stoat. There's a difference. It's like being related to royalty, only with better fur.
