Fred the Fox
The voice, the swagger and the occasionally questionable decision-making behind KAiOS.
Singer, songwriter, self-appointed spokesman for a generation and a fox who firmly believes rock 'n' roll lost its bollocks somewhere around the invention of the influencer.
Raised on Bowie, Oasis, The Beatles, Supergrass and the musical imagination of Damon Albarn, Fred grew up believing that great songs should have something to say, preferably very loudly. His love of Gorillaz, hip-hop, punk and old-school rave means he's never seen much point in sticking to one genre.
He's got the confidence of a stadium-filling rock star, the mouth of a pub landlord and absolutely no interest in being liked by everyone.
Away from music, Fred comes from a long line of foxes with a reputation for trespassing, raiding bins and deliberately winding up dogs in suburban gardens. His cousins remain particularly active across Surrey, much to the annoyance of the local Labrador community.
Fred also considers Basil Brush a major cultural influence, although he's reluctant to discuss this in front of the rest of the band.
He has publicly described Fantastic Mr Fox as "a load of middle-class bollocks" and becomes genuinely furious whenever Stan brings up The Three Little Pigs. "That was a fucking wolf, you thick bastard."
Behind the attitude, Fred is a passionate songwriter. His music explores the chaos of modern life, relationships, identity and the complicated business of being human. Or, in his case, a fox.
He takes his music seriously, his reputation slightly too seriously, and almost nothing else seriously at all.
We're not trying to be the next Oasis. They were already Oasis. Try and keep up.
